Course Description
The Traffic Control Combo course is designed to prepare you with the skills and knowledge to work safely and effectively in the traffic management industry. It applies to those who would like to work in live traffic environments in a supervisory or operational role in NSW to set up and pack up a traffic control worksite OR control traffic using a stop/slow bat and portable traffic control devices.
The Traffic Control Combo course includes seven (7) units of competency spread over two (2) days of face-to-face training + one (1) day of practical assessment.
- RIIWHS201E Work safely and follow WHS policies and procedures
- RIIWHS205E Control traffic with stop-slow bat
- RIIWHS206 Control traffic with portable traffic control devices and temporary traffic signs
- RIIWHS302E Implement traffic management plans
- RIIRIS301E Apply risk management processes
- RIIWHS303 Position, set up and program portable traffic control devices
- RIICOM201E Communicate in the workplace
These units describe the skills and knowledge required to work as a Traffic Management Implementer and Traffic Controller in NSW.

Entry Requirements
An individual undertaking this course on behalf of NNZMC PTY LTD T/a Industry Skills Solutions will need to demonstrate the following to be eligible for entry:
- Participants must be 17 years and over
- Participants should have a valid General Constuction Induction Training (GIT) Whitecard
- 100 points of ID is required as per - https://www.safework.nsw.gov.au/__data/assets/pdf_file/0008/848510/evidence-of-identity-and-record-of-training-for-traffic-control-work-training-under-the-work-health-and-safety-regulation-2017.pdf
- A Unique Student Identifier (USI) Number. This is required prior to enrolments being processed. To obtain a USI number, please go to www.usi.gov.au to register.
- Online study: Students must have access to a computer, smartphone, tablet or other electronic devices with access to the internet to complete the online/ pre-course studies. Attendees must have completed their own online pre-course work (if applicable) prior to attending the face-to-face training day. If any applicant has not completed the online pre-course work, they will be unable to attend the session. This may incur further charges or cancellation fees.
- Participants must have the physical capability to be able to meet the demands of the practical skills demonstration;
- Participants must wear enclosed shoes/safety shoes and comfortable/practical clothing
- Language, literacy and numeracy requirements - students must be able to read and correctly interpret required documentation relevant to traffic control operations, speak clearly and unambiguously in English, explain, describe and verify sometimes complex needs and issues and understand the risk assessment requirements. Writing is required to the level of completing workplace forms and producing any required reports. Numeracy is required to the level of being able to correctly calculate distances.

Assessment
Individuals undertaking this course with NNZMC PTY LTD T/a Industry Skills Solutions will be expected to complete verbal, written and practical assessment tasks.

Outcome
Upon successful completion of this training course, you will receive a Statement of Attainment for the nationally recognised unit/s of competency:

Your Statement of Attainment will be issued by NNZMC Pty Ltd - T/a Industry Skills Solutions RTO 45974.
In addition to the above, successful participants will be issued with a Statement of Completion (SOC) and a subsequent SafeWork NSW Traffic Control Work Training (TCWT) Card.
