Service Overview
A cracked stile, a worn rung or a seized castor is easy to miss — until someone's weight is on it. Inspekta inspects ladders and non-powered access equipment across regional NSW to help you keep it safe, serviceable and compliant, and to catch wear, damage or non-compliance before it causes an incident.
Servicing Dubbo, Wagga Wagga and New South Wales, our inspections are carried out in accordance with AS/NZS 1892 (portable ladders) and AS/NZS 1576 / AS/NZS 4576 (scaffolding), supporting your work health and safety obligations across mining, civil construction, renewables, drilling, trades and industrial sites.
What We Inspect
- Portable ladders — step, extension and platform ladders
- Mobile access platforms (non-powered)
- Step stools & mobile steps
- Scaffolding towers (non-powered / mobile)
Note: this service covers non-powered access equipment. Powered elevating work platforms (EWPs) fall under a separate regime and are not covered here.
What Our Inspection Involves
What Our Inspection Involves:
- Detailed condition inspection — we examine each item against AS/NZS 1892 (ladders) or AS/NZS 1576 (scaffold towers): stiles/frames for cracks, bends, twists and corrosion; rungs, steps, treads and top plates; feet and non-slip material; locking clips, stays, braces and tie rods; castors, guardrails and platforms on towers and mobile platforms.
- Load rating & suitability — we confirm ladders are industrial-rated (120 kg or more) and appropriate for workplace use, and flag any domestic-rated equipment being used on site.
- Compliance & damage identification — wear, damage and non-compliant items are clearly identified, and unsafe equipment is tagged out of service so it can be repaired by a competent person or removed.
- Tagging — compliant equipment is tagged with the inspection date and next inspection due date.
- Detailed report — you receive a written report listing every item, its condition, and the corrective actions required.
Compliance Standards
Our inspections are carried out in accordance with:
- AS/NZS 1892 — Portable ladders (including AS/NZS 1892.5, Selection, safe use and care)
- AS/NZS 1576.1 — Scaffolding: General requirements
- AS/NZS 4576 — Guidelines for scaffolding
Your obligations. Under Work Health and Safety law you have a duty to provide and maintain safe plant and to manage the risk of falls. Regularly inspecting and maintaining ladders and access equipment — and removing damaged equipment from service — is how you meet that duty. A documented inspection gives you evidence of due diligence for WHS records, audits and insurers.
We help you keep your access equipment inspected, tagged and documented, so your teams can work at height on gear they can trust.
