Service Overview
When a worker's harness is the last line of defence against a fall, it has to perform — every time. Inspekta inspects height safety and fall-protection equipment across regional NSW to make sure yours is safe, fit for purpose and ready when it's needed. All inspections are carried out in accordance with AS/NZS 1891.4:2025 (and AS/NZS 4488.2 for rope-access equipment).
Servicing Dubbo, Wagga Wagga and New South Wales, we support mining, civil construction, renewables, drilling and trades where working at height is part of the job. Regular inspection maintains the integrity and functionality of your equipment, protects your people from falls, and gives you documented evidence that you're meeting your work health and safety obligations.
What We Inspect
- Harnesses — full-body fall-arrest and work-positioning harnesses
- Lanyards & shock absorbers — including energy-absorbing lanyards
- Temporary/portable anchor points — personal and reusable anchors
- Inertia reels & fall-arrest devices — self-retracting lifelines (SRLs)
- Ropes — rope-access and static/safety lines
- Access equipment
What Our Inspection Involves
What Our Inspection Involves:
- Detailed component inspection — we examine each item against AS/NZS 1891.4: webbing for cuts, fraying, UV damage and chemical staining; stitching; D-rings, buckles and connectors for cracks, corrosion or deformation; shock-absorber status; SRL housing and retraction; and rope condition (sheath and core).
- Labels, serials and service life — we confirm labels are legible and check the date of manufacture against the equipment's maximum service life. Fall-arrest harnesses and webbing equipment are retired at the manufacturer's service-life limit (commonly 10 years from date of manufacture) regardless of condition.
- Pass / action required / fail — equipment that passes is tagged with the inspection date and next inspection due; anything that fails is tagged out of service and removed so it can be repaired (where the manufacturer permits) or replaced.
- Tagging and register — each item is tagged and recorded in an inspection register you can retain as evidence of due diligence.
- Detailed report — you receive a written report documenting every item, its result, and any corrective actions required.
Compliance Standards
Our inspections are carried out in accordance with:
- AS/NZS 1891.4:2025 — Industrial fall-arrest systems and devices: Selection, use and maintenance (the inspection and maintenance standard)
- AS/NZS 1891.1 (harnesses) and AS/NZS 1891.3 (fall-arrest devices) — for the equipment being inspected
- AS/NZS 4488.2 — Industrial rope access systems: Selection, use and maintenance (rope-access equipment — see note 2 on standard currency)
Is height safety inspection legally required? Falls from height are one of the leading causes of workplace death and serious injury in Australia. As a PCBU you have a mandatory duty under Work Health and Safety law to manage the risk of falls, which includes ensuring fall-protection equipment is properly maintained and inspected. AS/NZS 1891.4 sets the recognised inspection regime for meeting that duty, and equipment without a current inspection tag should not be relied on for fall protection. A documented inspection program is how you demonstrate you're meeting your obligation — and it's evidence of due diligence for regulators and insurers.
We help you keep your height safety gear inspection-current, tagged and documented, so your teams can work at height with confidence.
